Hi Steve.
Well you saw at first hand today what we are like!!! if only we could put it in the net we would be a good team,
Seriously, we know our place in the pecking order, but it will be a good test of how far we have come this past year, and if the Stanny play like they can we have got no chance, but if they take us lighty then who knows _________________ Double Winners!!! |

Unlucky sunday Ian,
I dont anybody was expecting you to win but I dont think 5-1 was to bad considering they pulled most of the big guns out for the match.
Its now time to turn our attentions to Birstalls Collide Part II.
Should be a very interesting game between the 2 Stanny teams but im edging my bets towards the Stanny Reserves taking this one and getting to the final to try and keep their trophy!
I see you have a nice pitch to play your semi at too. We are playing on your pitch so I suppose the one good thing is we dont have to put the posts up because we are the away team. |

Although I have not done predictions lately, I can use this nifty bit of technology to work out the odds of progression for each team; Obviously only for a bit of fun... it would be generated by a computer so it would consider recent form, overall results/goals scored and conceded etc... might make it a bit interesting to see who is favourite to go through / win the Competition as far as the stats and form suggests?
I will go ahead with this I think -- might get a reaction from participating Clubs _________________ No longer the General Secretary -- Any queries/questions should be directed to either Brian Bunn (Chairman) or Tony Pietrzyk (Vice Chairman).

Okay... here we go with the computers' predictions for the William Davis Trophy:
Semi-Final 1:
Pied Bull 2 - 4 Birstall Trees
*It has given Pied Bull a 36% likelihood of winning this game (I assume because of recent form???), and the Trees with a 61% likelihood of winning this game. The likelihood of a draw after 90 mins/AET is 3%.
If it went to penalties, the computer predicts the Trees to win the shoot-out by 4 goals to 3.
Semi-Final 2:
Stamford Reserves 4 - 1 Stamford 'A'
*It has given the Reserves a 72% likelihood of winning this game, whilst the 'A' team have a 27% likelihood of winning this game. A 1% likelihood of a draw has been predicted.
If it went to penalties, the computer predicts the Reserves to win the shoot-out by 4 goals to 2.
Overall Odds of Winning the Cup:
Birstall Trees 39%
Birstall Stamford Reserves 32%
Pied Bull 18%
Birstall Stamford 'A' 11%
So there you have it!! It surprised me a little with regards to the figures themselves, but it basically runs true to what the League tables currently state _________________ No longer the General Secretary -- Any queries/questions should be directed to either Brian Bunn (Chairman) or Tony Pietrzyk (Vice Chairman).

Shove the technology up where the sun don't shine. I find this disrespectful to all affiliated to BSFC today especially in todays epic semi. |
