wat was the game like mate? Good result considerin we had 5 player not there ( me included) and the two stand in keepers not available. I bet fitzy loved it in goal!

Birstall Stamford A 6 Mountsorrel Imps 0

Brilliant game today, massive credit to the mountsorrel lads who were all plaing out of position, however, we came out on top again to stay unbeaten for the whole league campaign.Bloody hell, i even managed 90 minutes in midfield myself......did somebody say Mascherano??? Thought so.

Its a cliche, but i think i just have to shift the credit onto the players. It all comes down to sheer hard work,determination, and the bloody minded desire to win at all costs.Without blowing our own trumpet, it is well deserved. We have come from behind 5 times this season, against all the top side in the division too.That says a lot about the lads.

Looking forward to wednesday night now, and a chance to test ourselves against the sanny reserves.....should be interesting    Wink

Nice one mate....we have some of them attributes...it's when we go a goal down we struggle to come back....being a young side don't help I guess....

Dr Chan, I'm sorry but that post was unacceptable. I'm sure you're upset at losing but if you have a complaint regarding the officials or the opposition's behaviour, please submit a report to the league so it can be investigated by them and maybe the County FA if warranted.

Probably yes, but technically, no.

If Gate lose their last game by 20 goals or so then they'll fall below Markfield on goal-difference. A long shot I know, but...  Wink

all i said is how the ref was shocking and spoiled the game for both sides. he played 55 mins in the first half!! and the other 1 was how 1 of there players spat at 1 of ares! not being funny but you may aswel punch someone in the face then do that!!

Was a good game to be honest, 2-1 with not all that long to go, then our defence went to sleep and left it to me in goal to keep the score down as best as possible. and not being a keeper I think I was outstanding (we dont talk about the one that went under my foot though). Like yourselves we had a few players missing but never mind, roll onnext season.

Thanks pal and not bad I suppose for a first season of players who have never played together? I have to say that with Birstall 'a' being so strong and catching us out so early we were always playing for second!

I think I signed on 30 players this year and had to do all the secretary stuff myself... Next season it will be different!! Watch out stanny number 2

To be fair I have to agree....first of kicked off at 10:45 and the whistle went at 11:40 for the end of the first half...

First off, the game kicked off late due to an official not being present and second, from what I gather neither team was exactly angelic. With as many cautions that were isud in the game, I'm not surprised that there was so much added time played.
Also, as Celtic_Steve has said, if you have any issues regarding the officials, then send me a report.

Next season'll be totally different to this year so expect a different Birstall Stamford Res. That's if I'm still involved. Plenty to discuss in the committe meetings over the summer

Lol 2 Cup Finals is more than enough. 3rd in the League was a bit dissapointing but no the summer meetings are to determine who does what next year. Plenty to sort out and hopefully set a plan for youth structure / development so see if and where I feature in that.

There are the odd changes coming in the management as well as see what that brings. My managerial partner is taking a step back due to work committments for a start.
