Charnwood Leagues Best players.Looking at the other threads on best players in the prem, i thought it would be more fun for everyone to name players they admire from the Charnwood League. And not just the Prem.Players from respective divisions are all welcome.
Which players would you like in your side, from the Charnwood League? should throw up a couple of interesting comments!!
This follows on from Sundays Birstall Stamford Reserves v Shepshed match, when Stanny Manager Joey Hughes jokingly waved a signing on form at a certain Mr Onions from Shepshed!!!

I can only speak as a referee but,
Tom Jones, Riverside.
Matthew Jones, Beacon Ath.
Both of these because I like their general attitude, and that they are willing to get stuck in, but without being dirty.
Mark Cooling, because for a fat lad, he's a pretty good 'keeper.

I still reckon you were the Man of the Match against Ashby Rovers, but then I'm a referee and my judgement is always being brought in to question!!

I'd put forward Jamie White from Donisthorpe, but obviously not many have seen him yet and i haven't seen many players from our division yet, only played about 4 teams i think! lol

I can name one of my players who I think could play in any premier team - Alec Steer, for those who dont know him, he is the long haired giant centre back we have - would definately have him next to me in the trenches.
Just a quick word for my other pick from our reserves - Gaz Plumb (Bald ugly old centre back) im sure some of the div 4 strikers still have the bruises to prove it. Gaz has had to retire from football at the ripe old age of 44, due to him having a stroke a couple of weeks ago. Gaz is now ok, but the doctors have warned him that any bangs on the head could bring the stroke back on, and as his game was about putting your head in where it hurts, then it was a simple decision to retire

The striker ive hated playing against over the last few years is Jazz from greenhill!! always running never giving you a second also he is quick and shoots (well) from anywhere !
The number 2 (skipper) from the reserves is scott robinson
As seen as we are picking one from our own team for me its gotta be my skipper Woody got a bit of everything ability wise but the thing that makes him "special" is his will to win !!!

Mountsorrel have a tall kid up top who broke his foot last year, score 5 goals in 1 game against us in the County cup, quality player.
Pete davey on his day is quality when he is not injured, stanny res.
Plumby from the trees
Foxy at compass
Best Gk is Danny at the Gaunt, best GK i have seen..
Webb at shelly looked good and some attacker they had how scored a few..
Im not saying owt about my team cus i dont want to give anything away, hahaha...

He is playing well for us and we seem to get the best out of him. 1 of many new players bought in to strengthen for this season!

Hahahahaha despite the comment at the top, Onions I've always admired. A constant thorn in our side
The usual one's have been brought up for me. Steansy, Fitzy, Matt Langham, Will Richards, Foxy, Balde, Brett Hicklin, Paco, Millo ex Gaunt now Groby. Dean Partner from the Falcs is a top signing. Scotty Mac from the 'Wold. Little Bogie from Sileby.
The list is endless. All good
