Donisthorpe Engines??, Who are they?.........exactly!!

Im all for new teams entering the league, and hopefully Donisthorpe Engines will pass their interview and will be welcomed by one and all into the Charnwood League.Good luck lads.

However..............Please, please, Please,Please, dont put them in Division 2!!!!!! I dont fancy trekking all that way on a sunday morning!!!! lol.

Moira???!!!!! Thats f*cking miles away.
Donisthorpe Engines

Haha, how very rude!!

And even with our offer of nice hot grub and a few games of darts/pool, maybe we don't want to be in division 2 anyway? LOL.

Our food is to good for that league SurprisedP
wvfcgaffer

what league are you looking at going into ?
Donisthorpe Engines

To tell the truth we don't overly mind. We just want to be accepted and play.

I think for the first season at least, we are probably better in one of the lower divisions because a good portion of our players will be lacking fitness, myself included, so i think we will be better for the lower sides, rather then easy pickings for the top ones lol.
Matt B

As per Stanny's message, & no disrespect intended as it is always good to have new teams but........., surely you must have a closer league than ours to enter?!?!?
Donisthorpe Engines

The Burton League could be classed as more our area, but the distance we'd have to travel to the majority of teams would probably be about the same distance as most teams in the Charnwood League, so I would imagine it would be about the same travelling time, just in the other direction.

Plus as it stands, we might be getting our pitch in Ashby De La Zouch/Coalville, so that would be closer for everyone, we'll just have to see.
Donisthorpe Engines

Just that kind of area we live in i'm afraid, bit dodgy, but I travelled to Loughborough today and it was only a 25 minute journey, so i've travelled further to play football, it's not that bad.
Matt B

Nice one, well best of luck. how dod you get on last night?
Donisthorpe Engines

Yeah i think it went really well actually, thanks for asking. Can I just say I'm so impressed with the community here, everyone's so welcoming, really sound stuff.

But things went well, we had a good chat about the club, our beginnings and why we want to be apart of the league and I suppose a team at all and I was told my enthusiasm and set up was impressive, we just need to confirm a pitch and I think we have a good chance of being accepted.

I hope so anyway, I've put a lot of time and effort into getting us started, i'd be heartbroken to find out we had to wait till next season and join the burton league instead or something like that! lol.

It comes from the Engine Inn, who I believe are their sponsors.
Donisthorpe Engines

Yeah, the engines bit comes from our association with the Engine Inn pub and Iceman's right, Donisthorpe isn't miles away at all, we are about 10 mins drive from Coalville.

Good news as well, looks like we got a pitch sorted as well as having our first training session which was by all means a big success.

The Monk

I've heared about this team? Apparently they've got one of the top goalkeepers around or something? That's the rumour anyway.
Donisthorpe Engines

Just so everyone is aware, "the monk" is our goalkeeper! lol
