Guthlaxton Old Boys - Alliance Div 2Right lads, we have drawn Guthlaxton old Boys in the county cup and we dont know very much about them.Has anybody played them over the last year or so? They were in Alliance Div 3 last year and id love to hear any info about them.Cheers. |

Hi mate,
They are a spin off, of a team called Smithsteel Rangers, who used to play in the Alliance premier league. They broke away from them ,and took most of the good players, and joined the Alliance lower leagues and are moving up year by year. They have a really good striker called Danny Kiff, who scores 50+ goals per season, so one to watch. I only know this as I used to play for Smithsteel, and when I left to set up the Trees, they did the same. |

There top scorer last season bagged 25, played 24, only lost 4 and finished runners up in Div 3. | ||

Not to correct you since you seem to know it all  , but Guthlaxton are a team in their own right and not a spin off  (this being their 4th season)
JBS Rangers are probably the team you are thinking off  , they did form last year in the Alliance Prem and did have a lot of the SmithSteel lads after they folded 2 years ago.
As far as I’m aware they now have 2 possibly 3 players from JBS now they have also folded, but the vast majority of the lads have never played for either Steel or JBS. O and I also imagine the player "Danny Kiff" that you refer to is actually "Matthew Kiff" who hasnt played for them since the start of last season .
I think it’s fair to say you make Jamie Redknapp seem knowledgeable
