Great result, very well deserved. Things turned sour second half as their strikers started to get fustrated, they picked up 2 yellow cards along with an off the ball incident which if seen would have been a red.

Funny incident this morning, Ref turned up, and as The Aces could not get their changing rooms opened, he refused to do the game, but still wanted his match fee, we were happy to play the game and had all got changed in our cars. Ref wouldnt budge until he was paid, which he duly was then left. I ended up reffing the game, which looking at the above scoreline was not the hardest one I have ever done, but I don't think the ref did himself any favours with his attitude this morning.

Agar Nook deserved to win, prob not by so many, but deserved the victory - shocking by us and convinced now we are probably getting relegated unless we can turn things around soon.

An eventful day to say the least!! First off, absolutely no excuses for todays performance, the |Riverside lads were well worth their three points today, we were very very well beaten. However, mitigating circumstances include, losing our captain and inspiration before we even left the pub, losing our centre-forward in the warm-up, losing our goalkeeper and right-back during the game, our left-back leaving his head in the Emporium and our centre-midfielder enjoying his 18th birthday the night before!!! But, as i stated, these are NOT excuses, and we deserved nothing from the game.I honestly dont know what to do with myself as i have not lost a league game in 15 months as manager before today!!!
Looking forward to next weeks rematch at our place which is our FIRST home game of the season. and, if i know my lads, the result will be a lot different next week.
Also the ref was a c*ck for both sides yet again, and it was also nice to have to get changed in the car park in the pouring rain, thanks to Charnwood Forresters deciding to keep the keys to themselves. Thanks for that.

Key players missing but another absolutely massive performance from my boys today. Tough conditions but you gotta meet the challenge whatever the weather.
First 25 mins we were fantastic and then in fits and starts afterwards. Very professional job done today though and to be fair, could have been about 7/8 on another day. Tough side Parva very dangerous on the counter attack. Sound bunch of lads tho and nice grub in the Lounge Bar afterwards. Only thing that took the gloss off was the Riverside v A Team result but I understand credit where it's due Riverside.
A very happy gaffer.

That is a disgrace who the hell was that? Report that man. | Not sure who it was, as we didn't have a ref appointed for the game, and I had never seen him before.
We all know what the weather was like this morning, and if 22 players are prepared to get changed in their cars, and play, it does seem a bit harsh that the ref who was already kitted up was not willing to play the game. The ref said he had got a game this afternoon, so needed to get changed hence he wouldn't play, which is fair enough, but it was his attitude in standing there in front of 30 odd people demanding his money, then getting it eventually, and then storming off. It was not United Aces fault that the council had not turned up to unlock the changing rooms, so I think the Ref could have shown some common sense.
Taking in to account all the above, a record win for the Trees, and if only they could play like that every week, there would not be a team in Division 4 who could live with them.

A) The council own the pitch and the changing facilities. B) The league arrange for Riverside to play at Lodge Farm C) If Riverside had asked we would lend them a key to get one cut. Seeing as they have been playing there 2 months how are we suppoosed to know they haven't got a key.
Sileby Athletic play there but I don't see you blaming them. Our reserves didn't have a game and the frst team were away.

I have already asked if we could do our own bodge job, but the Parish council wont let us
Mr Stanbridge didn't seem to mind/notice when he reffed us, but as I said another ref in the Charnwood league who also refs the District league, came out with his tape measure, and on finding out they were short reported Birstall RBL, and abandoned the game, hence the secretary of the RBL came to warn us the following Sunday.
Better shut up now, or else might talk the club in to another fine (if the Couty FA are watching)

The posts are jointly owned by The RBL, Stamford, & ourselves, and are the only ones used on that pitch, and have been since we bought them 4 years ago, to my knowledge the post sockets have never changed (as confirmed by the parish council) and as you said no other ref has ever had a problem with them, however, after being reported, the legion had a league official come down to the pitch on their next game to measure them and again confirmed they were short.
As the A team are playing on the pitch this Sunday, I feel its over to Nick to get his tape measure out!!!
I can PM you the ref involved if you are interested?

They have 5 very quick attacking players, 2 lads up top sean and micheal, with some African u21 players sitting behind them. Then two good wingers all fast as f???. Mid 2 are just scrappers but did the job and defence centre massive, I was small next too them but u know me I went in twice as hard as them! Both fullbacks were quick and good on the ball. Gk aka trig is weak but due to the wind we couldn't get the ball out second half. Doesn't help that there players get £10 a win plus £10 a goal? All apart from Jamo in the mid were very good on the ball and they had 19 players? |
If I were you lot I would put in a complaint I am pretty sure that one of the guys that scored against you is not signed on with the right name..... On the LSL site they have a player down as scored by someone from there own team called Michael Line I think, yet on the score sheet they have sent in the scorer is Michael Leadworth or something like that ?????
Why has this player got 2 names ???? seems a bit dodge to me WORTH A LOOK. |
The player named on the website is Michael Leadware

I was quite happy with them, and to be perfectly honest I don't know many refs who go around with a tape measure measuring the goals! | Hi Iain,
The posts are jointly owned by The RBL, Stamford, & ourselves, and are the only ones used on that pitch, and have been since we bought them 4 years ago, to my knowledge the post sockets have never changed (as confirmed by the parish council) and as you said no other ref has ever had a problem with them, however, after being reported, the legion had a league official come down to the pitch on their next game to measure them and again confirmed they were short.
As the A team are playing on the pitch this Sunday, I feel its over to Nick to get his tape measure out!!!
I can PM you the ref involved if you are interested? |
Cheers iain, ill take a couple of brick ends from work today to pack the bottom up!!!! I cant believe a ref would go to these lengths (excuse the pun), by bring ing a tape measure??
Can you make sure the ladies dont open the Cafe up untill after the game, dont forget i have Tippo and Tom Burton in my squad, both big fans of a pork product!!

As our game was cancelled last week, we only made £10 profit from the cafe, and I had worked it in to my cash flow forcast that as you were finally at home this week (the long awaited arrival of Tippo) this was the week to open early and cash in.
Seriously, if you speak to Anita before the game she will arrange to get the ref a drink for half time/full time etc..
