great game good luck for the rest of the season lads
birstallstamfordanumber1

Birstall Stamford A 5 Cossington Royal Oak 0

shaky first ten mins, although it was expected after more changes to the team.Shook that off to put in a commanding performance, credit to cossington who came out at 2-0down in the second half and had a right go at us and made it uncomfortable as usual. However, the third goal killed the game really and in the end another 3 points away from home.

Just a footnote, we have won every single league game away from home since the beginning of last season and have drawn just once at home, credit to the lads for a quite impressive record.

Thats put the kiss of death on that record!!  Laughing  Laughing

walsh hammered by Oak

from the outset walsh struggled with the pace of the forwards of oak, by the end of the game walsh who had a lot of injurys including me the big lad in the middle of the park.  We were down to 9 men and i lost count i think it was twelve.

Fair credit to oak they are a decent side with some good forwards, walsh did have there chances but missed some sitters

dont really want to say much more frustrated and tired from running me socks off

but we mucked about at the back too much and we were carrying players

vinny

double figures seems harsh! you deserved the win. very dissappointing from us again. a few of my team mates need to stand up and be counted for. so many new faces this season but we have to adjust quickly.

well done and all the best. hopefully we'll give you a game next time

Birstall Trees P - Gaunt P

Birstall Trees Reserves 6 - Unites Aces 3

Fair play to the reserves, 3 - 1 down at half time, finally started playing in the second half,

Watched a bit of the Stanny Vs Falcons game, the Falcons look a good side.

Bloody hell, two stanny teams losing in one weekend, am shocked  Shocked
Donisthorpe Engines

Loughborough Saints Reserves 6-0 Donisthorpe Engines,

Not one of our best performances, probably didn't deserve the win, but 6-0 was a flattering result for there lads as well, most the goals came from set pieces as we closed them out at the back and apart from the last 15 mins, they never looked like scoring in open play at all. Sadly for us, we didn't have anyone who could stand up to there number four and we simply wasn't creating enough up front to put Saints on the back foot at any point, so we spent the game soaking up pressure and trying the odd counter attack which nearly ended up as a goal in the second half. Ref was ok, made some dodgy decisions, but no real complaints.

Saints deserved the win, though I hope for a closer game on the return journey.

Least the Premier will be interesting this year, we all know Stanny are class but we would all love the opportunity to have a pop at the league
birstallstamfordanumber1

From what ive heard/seen so far, i think its going to be quite an open title race.
Webbo1981

Hope so mate

birstallstamfordanumber1

hahaha, thats up to the powers that be wes!!  Im right behind the new 1st team management team of Austin and Ian Whittall, and of course im right behind Joey and Steve running the reserves. However, i am ambitious, so we will just have to see what the future holds. For the time being im quite happy to bring on the young lads in the A team.

Was that a diplomatic enough answer for you??  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

very diplomatic pal, surely u will have to give them some players soon? Would love to see u 2 drawn in the cup again, don't think it will be 6-0 again? I think the res are in the same boat as us with a different team each week!

It was a good game, and result apart, probably one of the more enjoyable games to play in with some firm but fair challenges. I look forward to playing you again.

Apologies for after the game.

dissapointed to only be 1-0 up at half time and then to only win 4-1 at full time but thats down to some great saves from twelves goalie and a few goalm line clearances. we had five or six first team starters missing today and the lads that came in didn't do themselves any harm of keeping thier place next week.

twelves keeper man of the match kept the score respectable.

Steve, just check the results page on Div 2 when you can please?  you've got greenhill as winning 3-2 but the score was 2-2 - it must just be a typo cos it looks like the league table shows the draw. Cheers Smile

By far and away our worst performance of the season, the result did flatter us although I didn't think we ever looked like conceding. Your lads made it difficult for us but I think too many of our players turned up expecting a walkover. It's a bit strange to be disappointed after a 6-0 win though!
Donisthorpe Engines

LOL at this point I can only imagine that feeling!

Tbh, when our lads have gelled more (considering we are a new team of lads, never played together before), i reckon we can do alot more in time, but we defintley need some bigger more aggressive lads for the next time we play you, you got some monsterous lads in that team and your number four is clearly the centre point of your attack, no surprise either, he's huge! lol.

Either way, was a good game overall, disappointing from a managerial perspective, but it was nice to see our defence do so well for so long, at least in open play.
thesaint

Your lads all seemed to have the right attitude and you made it tough for us in open play. You're right about our number 4 - he'd be even more dangerous if he could jump!
If you keep the workrate up and can add a cutting edge in attack then your first win won't be far away.
tom burt

take it number four is lordy there cant be two players that big in the sunday league let alone the same team?????
wilko

From what I seen in the Echo and who scores/plays for them, they look  a handy side.

You heard right

Charnwood Foresters 3 - 2 BSFC Res

First and foremost very well done to The Foresters who were good for their win. Stuck to their task well and we were undone by a team that wanted it that bit more that a team that turns up and expects a god given right to win every game just become that play for the Stamford. This is not an excuse.

I'll try and keep myself to myself on this but nearly 30 hours after the final whistle and I am still seething at this result and shows a lot about the character sometimes of some people. Ok we had 8 regulars missing including the whole spine of the team which ultimately cost us today but we still had 11 men which, on paper should have been good enough to win this fixture and we didn't perform at all. We had some up and coming players stepping up to the plate who were not helped by everyone pointing fingers at everyone else for things that were going wrong.

That is not how any of my teams conduct themselves on the pitch playing under me and rest assured changes are afoot. If nessecary, I will take a defeat week in, week out with players that are willing to perform and do a job that watch that utter tripe. It was said that this year will be a transistional stage for all at the Stamford but that is no excuse for performances like that. Changes all round starting with the Management and from their on.

Still a long way to go for all sides and the league is far from lost. My lot that are reading this will have thought that they have got off lightly in the changing rooms but I hope they read this, dust themselves off and come back brighter. I'm sure that most will.

Lol at still coped, if it wasn't for the very poor desicion by the ref which turned the game round, it wouldnt have been this result.

Even your manager said we was the best side on the day, you just had that very lucky desicion. which you capitalised on to make it 3-2, our heads dropped and a few players was very angry which gifted you another goal.
Ace_Striker

I hate it when players don't turn up, does my head in. I get it all the time! I had my almost best team out first game and I have never got close since!
Krashslaughta75

This is the worse season I've had so far. Ok squad depth is questionable which I'm working on you can never not sign enough quality players

What about the decision which gifted you your first goal?

And Wilko is Sileby Ath's manager.

Look pal, if you was the best side on the day you would of won. As for Cropstons first goal the ball was high in the air and I sliced it as a clearance. Not facing the keeper and not intentionally giving it back to him and the ref gives an indirect.

How can you moan?

And to div4 - yeh I am the manager, I can't remember saying that?
Mad_Rambo

Lmao we was, and its funny that, not wat i got told, plus all the ppl on the side lines said exactly the same thing.

And you had two very lucky goals you was on the back foot for over half the game, even some of your players said the result shouldnt have been what it was!!!
QuornRoyals08

you can play better then your opponents for 90 mins mad rambo son, but if you don't score your chances and don't win and get the 3 points it doesn't matter how well you played really does it!!
Donisthorpe Engines

^^ Agreed
Mad_Rambo

The end of the day i was replying to his msg which p*ssed me off really, no respect or anything. So i have a right to say what i have.
nippa12

How come Chris ( mad Rambo) 3 of your own players which i play with on a sat said you were lucky it was 4-2 and you didnt deserve to win ??
QuornRoyals08

Lol
Mad_Rambo

Lmao aint you clever you no my name.

Well again thats funny, thats not what all the lads said in the changin rooms.

Or am i mistaken, are you apart of my team.

So pipe down in your corner and carry on holding the division up from the bottom.

So stop trying to be clever, dont suit you.
wvfc11

I think you need to calm down mate, the game has gone and its the result that effects the league at the end of the day. How well you played or how unlucky you were will not get you any points.
More than likely you will win a game this season which you didn't deserve to, but did cos of a bit of luck. It will all even itself out through the course of the season
