Resignation

The premier division has suffered several resignations over recent seasons, with teams not being able to compete against the top clubs, and with several clubs being promoted from has low as 7th or 8th in division 1 last season, how many clubs will follow the resignation of Whitwick Compass.
Something has to be done to safe guard the league has last season began with 54 teams and this season with 50, this has been going down over a number of seasons. players will not bother playing if they are being beat every week.
Any ideas?

The main reason we moved several clubs from the middle and lower end of the table was to try and ensure that they would get some competitive matches and some they could win, rather than facing the likes of Birstall and Wymeswold (and the rest of course!) every week. We hope that no other resignations follow Compass, and we are in the process of change - after all, there are 5 new committee members and we are all doing our best to ensure the League's health.

There has been a steady decline in teams registering for a number of consecutive seasons', but there are reasons for that steady decline of which I shan't go into. However, resignations are usually because the players for that team either not being bothered enough or because they do not want to play in the higher divisions Confused Confused

That should tell you almost everything you need to know.

We are, as a League, looking at numerous things but it does take a bit of time.
