Birstall res 3 -2 groby dynamo. Our lads were brill today but 3-0 down was just too much today.

William Davis Quarter Final
Birstall Stamford A (Div 2) 2 Thringstone Vale (Div 1) 1.

Fantastic result for us today,a very very hard fought victory, fair play and all credit due to the Thringstone lads who made it a f***ing hell of a game for us,and were respectful and gallant losers.

Just a footnote....im glad we didnt have to pay for the ref, as he clearly does not like us!!!!!
Ian @ Birstall Trees

Birstall Trees Reserves 1 - Riverside 2

Started with four first team players, and finished with two just to clear things up

Well played Riverside, quality side, and look odds on for the title.

Really pleased with our 'real reserves' today as they put on a great game against one of the toughest oppenents in the league. Hopefully this will enable us to turn a corner after the last games 13-1 thrashing

Congratulations again to Riverside, and the first team are looking forward to the friendly soon

Cheers

BIRSTALL 2 THRINSTONE VALE 1

crackin cup tye today. well fought game with some good battles, could hav gone either way but well done to birstall. good luck in the semi final!!
birstallstamfordanumber1

Thanks Missj.......cant help thinking that the Charnwood League wont allow a potential all-Birstall Stamford cup final, although they did allow us one a few years back, so i think we will definitely be paired in the semis......but of course, the draw isnt fixed at all, is it...........?? Wink  Wink

I agree it was a well contested game today, and whichever side had got the killer second goal would emerge victorious.Thankfully it was us!!!
Ace_Striker

i think it will be a repeat of last seasons smei too.

Credit where it's due at 3 - 0 up we should have gone onto kill the game really but despite most of the Groby team moaning under their breath when Ace Striker shot from kick off, the corner he won from our keeper having to tip it over the bar was nearly the game defining moment (that make sense????). Good, hard cup tie played would have been a good game for the neutral and despite the result, I think it would have been interesting if both sides had teams at full strength as both had key players missing. Saying that, respect to all involved and cheers to the Cozzers for taking 2 hours of my afternoon having to give statements, names, descriptions of what got robbed outta our changing rooms whoever the thieving scum are
Riverside FC

thats why its best just to not have changing rooms!! Theyre a nuisance!

just get your manager to stand by the bags by the side of the pitch

everyone should take a leaf out of Riverside's book lol
cooling79

I wouldnt have minded changing rooms when we played you in the cup  Smile !

jan 4    -2 getting change outside . . . .that was an experience  Smile
Krashslaughta75

S'all very well and good saying that but we pay the council for the use of them and they provide the facility of someone locking them so they should have been no problems
Ian @ Birstall Trees

Thing that bugs me about birstall park is that, even in our sixth year (with the Stamford being much longer) they still do not trust us to have a key, but don't mind letting a sixteen year old girl look after it?

Although not ideal with our reserve team being at Humberstone Park, but the LCC gave me a key straight away, but left me in no doubts that its my responsibility should anything happen, but at least I know that everything is safe.

We are considering moving both teams to Stonehill, as the caretaker has given us the green light to play there, but then who would provide the bacon cobs on a sunday morning? or we could just leave Anita down there?
Ace_Striker

I have to say I thought that shot was in when it left my foot, I only took it was cus glen wasn't looking and was off his line.

What happenedin the changing rooms after was out of order, I hope they catch the people responsible cus normally the police couldn't catch a cold??

Not like Glen to be dawdling hahahaha  Laughing What made me chuckle is when the whistle went and everyone breathed a massive sign of relief, he was the only one cheering. Bless him great keeper and top bloke. Handy to know if you get my drift  Wink

Oh Wes nice one for the half bottles of that Creatine water you left. Back in training tomorrow after a 6 month lay off so they'll come in handy. Cheers to Wozza for the encouragment also with his kind words "you fat c***". All part of the Sunday morning all good fun. I aint heard nothing from the cops yet which aint no surprise.

Ian - To be fair we've never had a problem before and to be fair to him, Big Jez was devestated when I told him what we'd lost he's Stamford thru and thru so wherever the buck stops, it's just one of those things.

Apparently it 1/20 Man Utd winning the prem and I think the odds are the same for Birstall Stamford A, Groby Dynamo 1 and 2 finish in Div 2
Ace_Striker

Ha ha ha, that's my bros water he brought a crate with him! He was the lad that played left back 2nd half.

Woz is a lad, haha he does that alot....
