A good solid performance from the boys today I thought... a bit shakey the first 20 mins and then we seem to wake up...... we have had a smashin start to the season, lets hope we can keep it up.

We gave them abit to much respect early on but we found our feet second half and I think we were worth our win, some amazing celebrations when we scored the winner in extra-time.

Quite the drubbing for us today but nothing seemed to go our way with us having to use our three subs in the first half and then get another injury early in the second half which changed the entire game. Credit to Twelve, they continued to press and took advantage of having one more player on the pitch. Would be interesting to see how it would have gone had we had a full team out for the entire game as it was still nil-nil at half time.
I hate that bottom pitch at Burleigh though, that thing is like a bloody rock!

Donisthorpe Engines 1-5 Greenhill FC
We had some moments of good play and our goal came from a good break and some top passing and in honesty, we looked to match Greenhill at times, but they are a division 2 outfit for a reason and they just kept going longer then we did, two very quick strikers and an over the top of the defenders straetgy worked wonders for them.
One thing I'd actually say is that I've seen Greenhill get slagged off something rotten on here before, but from our perspective, me and the team actually felt they were a good bunch of lads, a little bit of an ego at times (but what times doesn't have those kinda players), either way, a good group of lads who have a bad name maybe when they shouldn't do - enjoyed the game and just hope we finally get a win, sooner or later! lol

riverside 2-1 swannington (aet)
probably the best performance from a swannington team i have seen in the 3 years ive been here. the fact that we played 3 players who have been on the bench all season and that we had 3 subs that hadnt figured at all plus the fact we went down to 10 men after an hour didnt stop us from competing with riverside. went down to 9 men with another sending off in extra time and still had a chance to grab a draw right at the end.

Fantastic game, end to end, and if the Burton keeper didn't get man of the match today, then the football worlds gone mad!!!
Adam you predicted 4 - 4 at fulltime then win on peno's, however it could have been 10 all at fulltime. Cheers to all yor lads for a sporting game, and sorry we just pipped you in the end

Ashby Railway 1-2 Cropston Rangers
An even game though Railway started the brighter and perhaps should have taken the lead early doors but Cropston came back strong and scored from close range as the ball bounced around after a corner.
Ashby pressed in the second and scored a deserved equaliser only for Cropston to score with a header 2 yards out from a corner. Railway hit the bar late on and came close again but just couldn't grab it.
Good game though, Railway's luck will turn soon, giving teams very competitive games but falling just short.

Maybe they are... Pal... But what I said was that we saw nothing like what others have mentioned about Greenhill and while there was some banter on the field, when the final whistle blew everyone shook hands and went down the pub for some food, we all felt they were a good bunch of lads, happily give them another game if and when we are both available.

Shepshed United 1 - 9 Loughborough Saints Cup

Little Bloke

Shepshed Utd 1 - 8 Loughborough Saints. Scoreline definitely did NOT do Shepshed any justice! Shepshed were the better team in the opening 20 minutes of the match and then matched the Saints for the rest of the first half (H-T: 0-1).
When the Saints went 3-0 up, Shepshed just dropped their heads and next thing you know it was 6-0! Shepshed pulled one back to make it 6-1 but the Saints just added another 2 goals thanks to some lack-lustre defending (again, mainly because of dropped heads). I have to say that Shepshed did not deserve this scoreline - it was much closer than it suggests and Shepshed could easily have scored about 6 or 7 themselves had they had their shooting boots with them.
Only bad thing in the game was near the end. 2 red cards (1 for each team) was the result.

Struggled for a side pal, I have to play a full 90 plus no Gk either. We lost 6 players who would have started were all injuries yesterday. Nevertheless we were well beat by a very fit and tallented side!

Good food quite right! We were expecting some bread and chips! You lads should do well if you stick together. Being as there's only about 2 lads from greenhill I can't see how we would even get a bad reputation. All the best for the rest of the season anyway!!

yes you did got down to ten men in the second half after using all your subs but we were 2-0 up by then..
i hate the bottom goal as well, cause its either to hard or in the winter it gets to muddy, i always tend to use that goal in the first half.
good luck for the rest of the season

Good to be back to winning ways. Just want to say thanks to Breedon for a good game - a good, strong contest. It's been a couple of seasons since we last played you and you're not the same crowd I remember - and that's a good thing!

Yeah, it was a good game and more even that the scoreline suggests - when we got back to 3-2 I thought it was in the balance.....

Yea was a good game, Your a good passing team from the back, but you couldnt get the ball to your strikers. and as for your goal wat a bad decision, clearly offside, even all your strikers said 3 of you was offside.
Soon as we got the first goal it just looked like your lads gave up.
But all in all was a good game, and a good win for Cropston Rangers, unlucky tho lads.

you was good for your victory but it would of been nice for our team to put up a fight. but it is hard work trying to cope with that macca lad when hes on his game. your team movement is hard to live with at times but at least we've played you twice already! lol.
also a shame a certain someone ruined the game for you lot. unecessary cards being handed out for a non bad tempered game.
anyway all the best for the rest of the season.
