Riverside Vs Sileby

This match was billed as a big crunch match by some Div 4 teams, namely Swannington, who backed Sileby to turn us over this morning.

Sileby put on a good show, and went a goal up after just a couple of minutes with a decent strike into the bottom right corner from 10 yards.

We soon got back into the match when Josh Morris flicked a cross in at the near post, which was quickly followed by a headed goal from 'Riverside Talisman' Tom Marriott.

Sileby changed formation in the second half and they began to win some of the ball in the middle of the park, which led to another decent goal after some good running from midfield.

Even though we knew the 1 point would be enough, we pressed on though, and eventually got the winner with a couple of minutes left in the match, when the ball travelled all the way through Sileby's area from a corner and arrived on Phil Lowe's toe at the back post for an easy finish.

The referee had a great game, hats off to him, he said at half time that he was really enjoying the game too.

Looks like Sileby might be struggling to get 2nd place now, but it's still quite open in division 4, I guess everyone will be waiting to see how the Nuns do next week. I think Breedon and Sileby can still make 2nd if results go their way.

It's been a great season in div 4 though, a lot of teams have been so much stronger in the return fixtures. Just want to say well done to our lads who did well again to come back from a goal down to win a tough match, and good luck to those still fighting it out for second place!

1 player dosnt make a team!im up front bud & no doubt we might have someone in goal who cant catch a ball!were all gonna b out of positions we're use to,so if you win, fair play to ya,if you dont ill jst laugh at you all!!!if i score, that would be scary, coz that would mean your back line are terrible.look out for me,i have big curly hair you cant miss it!

alright mate ill be the skinny one at left back! I wouldnt say our back lines terrible up to now. Second least conceded goals, only behind yourselves!!

Sounds like we cant win really eh? If we win, its expected and if we lose, well....lol

Lol.

I don't doubt that you will beat us. I fully expect us to lose on Sunday.

The Stella Devil might haunt some of our players Saturday night I expect, having already secured the league.

The main problem is that we are gonna have a bit of fun and draw positions out of a hat, which could have any kind of strange results!

With any luck though, I'll be drawn out as a right winger and have a field day! haha!
