I am also mightily dissapointed in this, yet aain it seems the mercury press room decided that the charnwood league does not match up to the Alliance league. How come it seems that we are an inferior league? I dont see too many of their representatives in doing so well, or even entering, the sunday FA cup, (a la Birstall Stamford), or the midland Cup. Also, the team at the top of their league, Hockley, got hammered by the mighty Birstall just a couple of short weks ago. There seems to be a strong sense of favouritism towards the Alliance League and i know of a few players in the league who also think that the Alliance is a better sandard. I think the proof really is in the pudding. How about settling it with a representative match between the two leagues?? Any ideas anyone?

Most players will say that their League is a better standard than that of another League... but when you want a representative match to "prove who's better", I assume you're talking a match between each League's Division (ie: Both Premier against each other, both Div 1's against each other... etc etc)? I have to be honest, apart from the financial gain and players pride.... I'm not too sure what either League would have to gain from it taking place? -- It proves something for that particular season only, as you cannot say both Leagues will be the same "strength" the following season! The Alliance League are currently "steady" whilst we are working on re-building our good League.
There are some mighty good (and mighty bad) points to having this (or these) representative match(es)... what's people's opinion then...... do the clubs/players really want to play an inter-league match at some point this season or next season?????
I know it's been a long time since the last inter-league match!

Not too sure what you're trying to get at birstallstamfordanumber1: we try and ensure we get as much coverage as possible though... I am sure our Press Officer is doing everything he can to ensure we get as much as possible... Quite why we're not in there I'm not too sure Certainly something to be raised at the next meeting though!
1 thing to try and remember though, is that the area covered by the Alliance League is much greater than that we cover! -- So if they have to choose one or the other, I do understand why they choose the Alliance League -- purely on the business side of things.... the Alliance League have more registered players and therefore an obvious choice as they would be more likely to sell more copies of their product.
If however, we had roughly the same numbers as the alliance league, then I would be extremely concerned with this matter. As is stands, I put it down to sheer business/common sense and not favouritism.

I think the county cup is the bar for who's league is better than who's?
There used to be a representitive match between the Alliance and Hinckley League where players from any division made a team (obviously prem and div 1 players).
This has died a death
