WE HAVE BEEN SPAMMED!I would like everyone to check their PMs as we have been badly spammed. DO NOT DELETE THE PMs!!! PLEASE FORWARD THEM ON TO ME ASAP. Thanks.
The clever idiots that did it obviously like to waste their own time, and like getting themselves and their League in to a lot of trouble! I am very please to state that I have removed all of their postings from public viewing (but have kept them as proof!), and have banned them from coming on to the forum again.
The unfortunate thing is that they will find other means of registering and spamming us... and will probably get their "mates" to join the spamming as well!
Well, the good news is (other than already removing their posts and topics), is that I have a complete record of usernames, email addresses and IP addresses that were used Clever idiots -- don't people know that there is ALWAYS a way of finding out who you are when on the internet?
Anyway, that bit of spamming (although it took me a bit over half an hour to sort through ) could cost the League some money or worse, seeing as they have been proven to have done similar in the past! Not very bright these spammers are they
The complaint is going in very sharpish to County FA, because I can prove who most if not all of those people were and who they are involved with (football-wise obviously )
Thanks Spammers --- you've just earned the County some money
Also, Whenever a new user registers FROM NOW ON, they will be put on moderation for some time until proven to be trustworthy! Will advise further later!!!!!

Sorry to have to put people on moderation when we note new user accounts, but it will limit them as to what they can do, just in case they are spammers!
From now on (15:02 on Thursday 29th November 2007), new users will be put on moderation which entails a screening process before the post is published to the public forum AND they will not have the automatic rights to PM people. They will ONLY be able to PM the administrators.
Sorry for the hassle this will cause to genuine new users of the forum, but this is a measure we must take at this time.
Thanks all.

Given the circumstances... I was quite pleased (I'm not allowed to say things like that so you vented my anger too, in a weird way)!

I also must note that due to having banned numerous I.P. addresses, some people may find it difficult to log on to our forum... it's simply because 1 I.P. address can cover more than just 1 computer! So with the ban on the idiots who spammed us, it may mean that some others will unjustly be penalised.
Sorry about that but the ban on the I.P. addresses are not going to be lifted any time soon so you may have to find another computer/area to try from.
PS: I wonder whether the spammers have let their companies know that a couple of them used a business computer? - What would their bosses say?
