Sunday Junior/Intermediate Cup
Glen Parva 2 - 3 Birstall Stamford Res
Key players missing but another absolutely massive performance from my boys today. Tough conditions but you gotta meet the challenge whatever the weather.
First 25 mins we were fantastic and then in fits and starts afterwards. Very professional job done today though and to be fair, could have been about 7/8 on another day. Tough side Parva very dangerous on the counter attack. Sound bunch of lads tho and nice grub in the Lounge Bar afterwards. Only thing that took the gloss off was the Riverside v A Team result but I understand credit where it's due Riverside.
A very happy gaffer.

United Aces 2 - Birstall Trees Reserves 17 (no first teamers honest)
Funny incident this morning, Ref turned up, and as The Aces could not get their changing rooms opened, he refused to do the game, but still wanted his match fee, we were happy to play the game and had all got changed in our cars. Ref wouldnt budge until he was paid, which he duly was then left. I ended up reffing the game, which looking at the above scoreline was not the hardest one I have ever done, but I don't think the ref did himself any favours with his attitude this morning. |
That is a disgrace who the hell was that? Report that man. _________________ BIRSTALL STAMFORD FC

That is a disgrace who the hell was that? Report that man. | Not sure who it was, as we didn't have a ref appointed for the game, and I had never seen him before.
We all know what the weather was like this morning, and if 22 players are prepared to get changed in their cars, and play, it does seem a bit harsh that the ref who was already kitted up was not willing to play the game. The ref said he had got a game this afternoon, so needed to get changed hence he wouldn't play, which is fair enough, but it was his attitude in standing there in front of 30 odd people demanding his money, then getting it eventually, and then storming off. It was not United Aces fault that the council had not turned up to unlock the changing rooms, so I think the Ref could have shown some common sense.
Taking in to account all the above, a record win for the Trees, and if only they could play like that every week, there would not be a team in Division 4 who could live with them. _________________ Birstall Trees F C |

Cropston rangers 5-1 Red Arrow
Had a brilliant game, and the score line should have been greater than this.
Bring on the next round. _________________ NEW WEBSITE!!!

Worst day ever.
1.Lost our proud league record.
2. Have our 3-2 defeat of greenhill expunged through no fault of our own, what an absolute load of s*it.
Must be the first team ever to start the day with a potential three points on offer and actually end up losing 6!!!

I thought at half time we fully deserved the lead, I thought the second half we were lazy... i thought a draw would off been a fair result in the end, but fair play to you lads, you keept your heads up and in the end won a good battle |

Enderby 9-5 Academicals
We had no goalkeeper, a 60+ year old at right back for the entire game. Not a great day. |

We were awful today, they were one of the worst sides i've seen. Some of our finishing was abysmal (me included ) But a wins a win i guess. |

weather didn't suit our style of play and helped them a lot with there aggressive game! Very good attacking side though and if the ref had of not let so much go and stamped he mark on the game early doors then 3/4 pitch brawls could have been avoided.
Haha glad we play in the charny league, forgot how rough Sunday footy can be? |
Unlucky for yesterday Wes. Would be happier with you in the draw tbh. I've heard a bit about the Royals this season and their squad. Sound a tatsy bunch. Is there a Slovakian there? Mustard apparently?
