|
At the moment, we have 4 Clubs being interviewed in March for a spot in our League:
United Aces FC
San Andorra FC (subject to Sponsorship name change)
Clubs' name TBC (depends on sponsorship gained)
Quorn Royals FC (Yes, the one from a few seasons ago -- they are back, but with a new set of players) -- Confirmed earlier today!
Also, the possibility of 2 Reserve teams coming into the League could provide us with what would effectively be 6 new teams for the 2008-09 season.
This could help make up for the loss of the 3 teams during the season (Whitwick Compass, Markfield Rangers Reserves and Cross Keys Castle Donington), and one team that has officially resigned as at the end of the current season.
I am also in talks with 4 other possible entries, although nothing official has been received from them yet and are therefore excluded from the above list.
My personal opinion is that I feel the League is getting more exposure now, the image of the League is (very) slowly but surely getting bigger and better day by day, and of course the excellent work and commitment from everyone currently involved in the League has contributed to this -- Clubs, players, referees, Committee members, and of course the good old fashioned word of mouth from spectators!
PS: I also have what some people may class as "an ace up my sleeve" for the 2009/10 season with regards to getting even more clubs into our League --- and NO! That does not mean, nor involve "poaching" any existing Clubs!! More to follow I'm sure

Excellent news.
Without disrespect to the other Sunday leagues, I've always found the CSL to be the best run and friendliest league to be associated with and long may it continue |

The team is from (current) Division 3. Formal notification will be sent out at the appropriate time (nearer the AGM) as to the name of this Club.
I know how difficult it has been, and hope that, as per our numerous conversations, you manage to build up to field another Club in the near future... The League (and I'm sure the other teams in your Division) thanks you and all your players for seeing it through to the end of the season. _________________ No longer the General Secretary -- Any queries/questions should be directed to either Brian Bunn (Chairman) or Tony Pietrzyk (Vice Chairman).

1 of the other enquiries are almost locked in as an official application... that would make it 5 new teams (if all goes well!!!), with an almost certain 1 new Reserve team coming into the frey, whilst another Reserve team could come back (still in talks at the mo).
Again.... if all goes well, we are now looking at 5 new teams with a chance of 2 reserve teams, taking us to a total of 7 "new" teams for next season.
Worst case scenario:: 4 teams only; Best case scenario:: 9 "new" teams (inc. new Reserve teams). A big difference there, so keeping my fingers crossed I can seal the deal with a couple of other interested parties. _________________ No longer the General Secretary -- Any queries/questions should be directed to either Brian Bunn (Chairman) or Tony Pietrzyk (Vice Chairman).

Official date for the first lot of interviews of new clubs has been set: 17th March 2008, to be held at the Brush Club.
We expect to hold 5 interviews on this date:
1. United Aces FC
2. San Andorra FC
3. [Name TBC]
4. Quorn Royals FC
5. Sileby Athletic FC
All other applications will be interviewed at a later date (either late March or early April).
Of course, all applications accepted by the Management Committee to be ratified at the Annual General Meeting in May 2008. _________________ No longer the General Secretary -- Any queries/questions should be directed to either Brian Bunn (Chairman) or Tony Pietrzyk (Vice Chairman).

Latest update:
Confirmed new teams (subject to acceptance): 5
Un-confirmed but likely to join: 2
Un-confirmed, still chasing(!!): 3
CONFIRMED:
1. Quorn Royals
2. San Andorra
3. United Aces
4. Riverside FC
5. Sileby Athletic FC
UN-CONFIRMED But Likely:
1. Dag United
2. [TBC -- Not Decided Yet!]
UN-CONFIRMED:
1. [TBC -- Name not stated yet]
2. + 3. :: Possible Reserve Teams
That's the latest, but I hope to persuade/clinch a couple more than only the 5 confirmed to date... again, I will regularly update on this situation.
PS: We have slightly amended the first night of interviews, whereby we are interviewing just 4 clubs, and we are holding a second night to interview the rest of the clubs (likely to be 3 or 4 more).
Edited By: Admin (No PMs Please!): Interviews back to 5 on the first night, 3 or 4 on the second night.
Any further thoughts on this by anyone? _________________ No longer the General Secretary -- Any queries/questions should be directed to either Brian Bunn (Chairman) or Tony Pietrzyk (Vice Chairman).

fantastic that so many clubs want to join in on a sunday morning.
has the managment realised that they will need another 4 - 9 referee`s, in some cases last season the csl were short of refs and that some sides didnt get a referee.
lets hope thats not the case this coming season.
i wish all the best to the lads that are gong to make his happen.
they deserve the medals.
